24/07/03 - The Tram Service is one of the main attractions of Bilbao on a special programme by the British television channel dedicated to the town.

The audience of the BBC programme "Holiday", which has been offering British people ideas and advice to visit the main parts of the planet for over 30 years, were able to see, on their television screens, the advantages of using the Tram service if they should decide to visit Bilbao.

The programme, dedicated to Bilbao and the surrounding area, was prepared during the month of May. A team of 4 people visited the main points of interest, among which the Tram Service was dedicated a specific area together with other attractions such as the Guggenheim Museum or the Transporter Bridge.

The programme, which lasted 40 minutes, tried to offer a practical view of what can be done in the city and how to get to each place. Those responsible for preparing the programme highlight the usefulness of the Tram Service, as well as some important parts of the city such as Abandoibarra and the Old Quarters. Furthermore, they praised the characteristics of the service, which they classified as modern and efficient.

The audience of the programme "Holiday" is estimated at 10 million people, and it is broadcast at night at prime time. Its influence in the selection of destinations for British travellers is considerable.
