Commemorating the 150 Anniversary of the birth of Rudolf Diesel

13/03/08 - On the 15th (Saturday) and 16th (Sunday) of March, the EuskoTren Basque Railway Museum will offer its own particular tribute on occasion of the 150 Anniversary of the birth of Rudolf Diesel, offering two historical train rides pulled by diesel engines on the said days.

The said trains will depart as follows:

• Saturday 15th March: at 12:30 and 17:00 hours.
• Sunday 16th March: at 12:00 and 13:00 hours.

In order the pay tribute this German engineer, the inventor of the high performance combustion engines that have been named after him, diesel engines, the EuskoTren Basque Railway Museum will also offer diesel train trips in August every week day from Tuesday to Friday.

The use of diesel engines in railways led to the eventual disappearance of legendary Steam Trains.
