The Urola Railway Line came to life again in the year 1998. The past has become the present and the future, with the use of a stream engine, the Aurrera, which was 100 years old in 1998, and the Pagoa and Aritza passenger carriages, built in 1925 for Urola Railway Lines.
The Basque Railway Museum is in Azpeitia, only 50 km. from Donostia/San Sebastián and 85 km. from Bilbao, a magnificent starting point to visit different areas of artistic and cultural interest.
Less than three kilometres away we can admire the impressive Loyola Basilica, built next to the birth place of Saint Ingnacio and the Environment Museum.
Revive the past on board a real steam train; enjoy the charm of old-fashioned railway trips. Discover the trains that brought the industrial revolution or learn how the old electric trams worked. All this is within your reach thanks to the EuskoTren Railway Museum.
The EuskoTren Basque Railway Museum steam train season will begin on 3rd April and continue until 31st October, with routes every week-end. We also offer special steam train services during the Constitution and Immaculate Conception Feast Days: 4, 5, 7 and 8 of December. It is also possible to contract special Steam Train trips from 300 Euros depending on the composition of the train selected (there are several engines and carriages at the disposal of customers). Any day of the week, during the Museum's opening hours, from 7th January to 23rd December.
